Overview

As Technical Expert, you drive architecture studies for next‑generation large-scale PV and battery energy storage systems. You shape decoupled PV–BESS architectures and define integrated solutions across inverters, PCS, transformers and MV switchgear. You’ll optimize costs while balancing efficiency, scalability, and grid compliance, collaborating with universities and industry partners to validate concepts and generate IP. This role sits at Huawei’s Power Conversion Technology Laboratory, contributing to strategic technology planning and advanced power solutions.

Verantwortungsbereiche
  • Lead architecture studies for large-scale PV & BESS, including string, centralized inverter, hybrid plant and large-scale implementations
  • Develop decoupled PV–BESS architectures with dedicated PV inverters and battery PCS; define optimal coupling levels (DC, LVAC, MVAC)
  • Define integrated solutions for PV inverters, PCS, transformers, MV switchgear, battery systems and PPC/EMS
  • Specify key requirements for inverter-transformer and PCS-transformer stations (voltage, power, impedance, losses, cooling, protection, interfaces)
  • Drive system cost reduction via architecture simplification, equipment consolidation, and optimized power-block sizing
  • Evaluate trade-offs among efficiency, cost, availability, scalability, grid compliance and operational flexibility
  • Collaborate with internal teams, universities and partners to validate concepts and generate IP
Zentrale Anforderungen
  • Proven industrial experience in large-scale PV, BESS or hybrid power plant system design
  • Experience with string and centralized inverter architectures and with centralized and distributed PCS solutions
  • Familiarity with MV transformer stations and integrated inverter/PCS–transformer solutions
  • Understanding of transformer selection and cost drivers (rating, voltage, winding, impedance, losses, cooling, MV switchgear integration)
  • Experience with system-level cost optimization and translating architecture decisions into subsystem requirements
  • Knowledge of PV-storage coupling, PPC/EMS, grid-forming storage and system modelling is highly desirable
