The Technical Services department at Gigafactory Berlin's Building and Infrastructure team is seeking a motivated intern with a focus on technical facility management in an industrial environment, particularly in building construction, structural fire protection, and related areas. This role will support the maintenance, optimization, and project management of critical building systems within the industrial manufacturing setting, including high-rise structures, fire safety installations, technical building equipment (such as HVAC, electrical, and sanitary systems), and construction operations. The intern will collaborate with various teams to ensure efficient facility operations, compliance with industrial regulations (e.g., building codes, fire safety standards, and occupational health requirements), and the implementation of best practices for sustainable building management in a high-volume production facility.

What You'll Do
- Support the monitoring and maintenance of building infrastructure in the industrial context, with a focus on high-rise construction, including structural elements like roofing, concrete works, and fire protection systems integrated with production processes
- Participate in the development and execution of maintenance plans and operational procedures for technical building equipment and facility systems, tailored to industrial demands and operational continuity
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, such as Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS), Fire Safety, Waste Management, and Permitting teams, to ensure compliance with local industrial regulations, fire safety standards, and company policies in a manufacturing facility
- Assist in preparing reports on facility maintenance activities, system status, compliance, and fire risk assessments specific to industrial operations
- Contribute to projects aimed at improving system efficiency, reliability, and sustainability in building construction and technical equipment, with an emphasis on minimizing downtime in the production environment
- Learn to read and interpret technical drawings, such as structural plans, fire safety diagrams, and piping & instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), in the context of industrial infrastructure
- Support the planning and execution of small-scale construction operations, including temporary installations, renovations, and fire safety upgrades within active industrial zones
- Help monitor and ensure the quality of contractor work related to building projects, with emphasis on technical building equipment, fire protection compliance, and alignment with industrial safety protocols
What You'll Bring
- Currently enrolled in a degree program in civil engineering, facility management, building technology, construction management, or a related field, with an interest in industrial applications
- Strong interest in technical facility management in an industrial environment, with a focus on building construction, fire protection, technical building equipment, and construction operations
- Experience or basic knowledge in technical building equipment (e.g., HVAC, sanitary systems, electrical installations), construction operations in industrial settings, as well as regulatory requirements and building codes is advantageous
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills suitable for fast-paced industrial operations
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams in a manufacturing context
- Willingness to learn and adapt in a high-intensity industrial environment
- Proficiency in German (English is a plus)
