Technical Project Manager (Solar / BESS ) – Germany

Our client is a fast-growing, international renewable energy company specialising in Solar PV and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) for commercial and logistics real estate.

With a strong footprint across Europe, the business combines solar generation with advanced energy solutions including storage, smart energy management, and energy trading.

Germany is a core growth market, with a secured pipeline exceeding 300 MWp and significant expansion plans in both PV and BESS projects.

The Role

As a Technical Project Manager (Solar PV & BESS) , you will be responsible for ensuring projects are technically robust, scalable, and ready for execution.

You will act as the key interface between engineering, project development, and commercial teams , ensuring that all projects meet internal standards and are optimised for performance, cost, and delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the development of Solar PV & BESS projects from early-stage concept through to financial close
• Ensure technical feasibility, optimised system design, and compliance with relevant standards
• Prepare and manage RfQs for EPC tenders , identifying risks and improving tender efficiency
• Act as a technical gatekeeper , reviewing:
  • Site constraints and structural considerations
  • Technical documentation
• Coordinate and support EPC tendering and contract negotiations
• Enable smooth handover to construction and execution teams
• Provide continuous technical support to project developers
• Support Business Development with technical due diligence and project assessments

Candidate Profile

• Degree in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy, or similar
• Experience in project development or project management within Solar PV (ideally with exposure to BESS)
• Strong understanding of:
  • PV systems and design
  • Grid connection requirements
  • Energy storage integration (BESS is a plus)
• Experience in EPC tendering and technical evaluation
• Structured, proactive, and solution-oriented mindset
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
• Fluent in German and English
• Willingness to travel
