Technical Specialist, CAE Crashworthiness

Overview

In this role you will drive crashworthiness simulations and analyses to assess vehicle safety performance. You will work with cross-functional teams to translate results into design recommendations, build high-fidelity CAE models from CAD data, and support validation through post-test correlation. You’ll contribute to safe, high-performance Lucid vehicles by leading optimization studies and mentoring junior engineers. Verantwortungsbereiche
  • Execute simulations to evaluate full vehicle structural crashworthiness across frontal, side, rear, and pedestrian scenarios
  • Generate feasible design recommendations by collaborating with engineering teams
  • Assist in building high-fidelity CAE models from CAD data
  • Create analysis reports and communicate program status to stakeholders
  • Participate in post-test teardowns to correlate CAE results with physical tests
  • Conduct DOE/DFSS studies using optimization tools to meet performance within mass and cost constraints
  • Support creation of standard work procedures for quality models and results
  • Lead/mentor junior engineers
Zentrale Anforderungen
  • 8+ years’ experience in full vehicle crashworthiness CAE
  • Experience with global regulatory and consumer safety standards (FMVSS, UNECE, USNCAP, IIHS, Euro NCAP, China NCAP)
  • Strong analytical skills with ability to draw meaningful conclusions from CAE results
  • Demonstrated ability to root-cause test performance and correlate CAE with tests
  • Ability to concisely present technical issues and propose next steps
  • Advanced user of LS-DYNA and pre/post processing tools (Ansa/Meta, Oasys, Hyperworks)
  • Python scripting
  • CAD experience; CATIA is a plus
  • Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering; Master’s preferred
