Territory Sales Manager
LOCATION: Colorado Springs, CO (Entire state of CO). Overnight Travel: 40%. Must reside in or near Colorado Springs and be able to travel within the geographic area.
SUMMARY : Responsible for growth of agency relationships to increase profit of GEICO and GEICO‑affiliated products within an assigned area. Oversees development and execution of policies to enhance agency relationships.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Prospect, interview, and approve new appointments to expand GEICO’s agency distribution.
- Manage agents within a designated area using in‑person visits, virtual meetings, phone calls, and email to build relationships, deliver training, and manage performance. Implements agency program policies and procedures.
- Translate national strategic initiatives into local goals and objectives; gain commitment and hold agents accountable for execution.
- Monitor the performance of agents in relation to goals, procedures, and guidelines.
- Counsel agents and, with leadership support, take disciplinary action up to and including termination when necessary.
- Deliver effective communications; assist agencies in developing local marketing plans and strategies to meet growth goals. Use data analysis to prioritize pre‑call strategies for the highest opportunity areas.
- Act as subject‑matter expert on GEICO and GEICO‑affiliated products, features, and tools. Research competitor offerings to influence agent sales.
- Evaluate agency performance and hold agents accountable for agreed‑upon action plans.
- Conduct training of agency staff on GEICO and GEICO‑affiliated products, services, and value proposition.
- Collaborate with leadership and the product team to develop efficient growth plans for agencies.
- Prepare departmental business plans, staffing projections, and budgets. Requisition supplies and materials for efficient operation. Review plans to achieve cost reduction where possible.
- Adhere to GEICO Code of Conduct, company policies, and operating principles.
- Meet attendance standards at the business location to perform job functions and enable interaction with subordinates and management.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree or 3 years of sales or relevant insurance experience (claims preferred).
- Prior experience driving sales results.
- Experience working with different insurance lines a plus (P&C, Commercial, Life/Health).
- Compliance with GEICO’s driving standards and/or policy.
- Valid driver’s license and auto insurance.
REQUIREMENTS

- Must meet for in‑person and virtual meetings.
- Must follow complex instructions, resolve conflicts, and have strong organization/priority‑setting skills.
- Must multi‑task.
- Must learn and apply large amounts of technical and procedural information.
ANNUAL SALARY
$97,375.00 – $151,700.00. Factors include scope and responsibilities, experience, education, training, location, market and business considerations.
