Test Laboratory Engineer (f/m/d)

In this role you will define and execute validated test methodologies for rail mobility components, ensuring accurate results within quality and cost constraints. You’ll perform independent mechanical tests, manage equipment calibration, and analyze live data to support safe, reliable performance. The position focuses on green, emission-free propulsion technologies and requires collaboration with a cross-functional team in a dynamic lab environment. You’ll contribute to advancing testing practices and maintain test program confidentiality while aligning with EHS standards.

• Define test methodologies and operating modes within the Test Laboratory Quality Management System and budget constraints
• Conduct validation/type tests in the mechanical domain (pantograph forces, dynamics, derailment protection, ride comfort, strain measurement)
• Maintain confidentiality of test programs
• Contribute to design and development of testing tools
• Install and verify calibration of measuring equipment for testing readiness
• Prepare equipment and test object for tests and validate test configurations
• Adhere to EHS rules and supervise/test activities, including live result analysis
• Process test results data and write static/dynamic test reports

• Knowledge of testing methodologies per accredited Test Laboratory standards (EN17025, COFRAQ, ISO)
• Experience in mechanical railway vehicle testing (pantograph testing, derailment safety, strain, ride comfort, weight)
• Master’s degree in mechanical engineering
• Willingness to travel for measurement tasks
• Fluent in English and German (French beneficial)
