Thermal Engineer R&D (m/f/d)

As Thermal Engineer in R&D, you drive development and optimization of thermal transformers. You will run CFD analyses and thermal calculations, and advance software for thermal design, collaborating across international sites. You contribute to research, publications, and university partnerships, helping to shape energy-efficient transformer technology. This role offers hands-on problem solving in a globally active, innovation-driven group.

• Lead and contribute to R&D projects for thermal transformer development and optimization
• Perform CFD simulations and analytical/ numerical thermal analyses
• Develop and improve software for thermal design of transformers
• Support internal departments and international locations with thermal inquiries and test setups
• Document results, report findings, and contribute to scientific publications
• Collaborate with universities, participate in industry events, and represent the company in committees

• Completed technical studies in mechanical engineering or physics with a focus on thermodynamics, power technology, or computational engineering, or comparable qualifications
• Experience in CFD simulations and thermal dimensioning, preferably in high-voltage equipment
• Project management experience in an international, multicultural environment (desirable)
• Strong motivation for continuous professional development and proactive project leadership
• Very good written and spoken English (C1)
• Excellent teamwork, communication skills, and willingness to travel
