Thermit Welder, Rail Track Welder – Railway Infrastructure Maintenance

• Join mobile maintenance teams working on a variety of European railway infrastructure projects
• Professionally refurbish and maintain rails, switch components, and insulated joints
• Independently perform track welding using the aluminothermic SkV process (Thermit welding)
• Perform cutting and flame-cutting operations
• Accurately measure and profile-grind rails
• Independently inspect and document welds in accordance with applicable guidelines and quality standards
• Assist with repair and maintenance work on machinery and testing equipment
• Contribute to the safety and sustainable use of rail networks across Europe

Requirements

• Completed technical training in a metalworking occupation, such as industrial mechanic, plant technician, metalworker, or a comparable qualification
• Additional rail track welding certifications are an advantage but not required; training can be provided by the employer
• Practical experience in track construction or rail/track maintenance is an advantage but not required
• Class B driving licence required
• Class C driving licence is an advantage
• Willingness to work away from home and travel to assignments in Germany and across Europe
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including night and weekend work where required by railway operations
• Motivated, reliable, and goal-oriented approach to work
• Ability to work in a team and communicate effectively
