Overview

As a Network Performance & Fairness Engineer, you will design and run a dedicated lab to test trading network infrastructure and evaluate vendor technologies. You’ll apply automated test methods to measure latency, fairness, resilience, and performance, delivering data-driven assessments to guide network design decisions. Working with cross-functional teams and vendors, you’ll translate test results into clear technical reports and actionable recommendations. This role focuses on reliable, fair, low-latency trading environments at Deutsche Börse Group. Your work helps ensure scalable, high-quality market infrastructure for a global client base.

Verantwortungsbereiche

Design, build, and maintain a dedicated lab for network and infrastructure testing
Develop and execute automated test methodologies to measure latency, fairness, resilience, and performance
Validate forwarding performance, buffering, and deterministic behavior of network devices
Evaluate technologies from multiple vendors through objective testing
Create Python-based automation frameworks and analyze large test data sets
Perform packet-level investigations and root-cause analysis of performance issues
Produce technical reports and contribute to network design discussions with data-driven recommendations

Zentrale Anforderungen

Solid networking fundamentals (OSI, switching, routing, TCP/IP, TCP/UDP/BGP/multicast)
Strong grasp of latency concepts and physical layer technologies
Proficient Python for test automation, data analysis, and visualization
Experience creating structured test plans and interpreting results
Proficiency in Linux, and familiarity with Git and software workflows
Analytical, methodical problem-solving with high attention to detail
Excellent documentation and cross-functional collaboration skills
