Transversal Engineer (m/w/d) - HV Battery System Safety & Standards

Recruiting for one of our automotive clients in Germany in the Ulm region

with fluent English and Italian or German

and multidisciplinary expertise for next level customer safety and satisfaction

Your responsibilities:

• Work across disciplines and departments to create HV battery system safety design and strategies
• Pursue innovative, multidisciplinary HV battery system safety designs and strategies for light-, medium-, and heavy-duty trucks
• Identify emerging, high-impact HV battery innovations that combine safety, reliability, performance, and affordability, and translate them into design improvements and intellectual property
• Contribute to shaping European regulation by generating and reviewing legislative proposals in cooperation with automotive lobbying organizations
• Review government and private sector electric vehicle safety reports to identify high-risk safety failures and their solutions, and synthesize these into actionable lessons learned
• Develop relationships with cutting-edge suppliers and create roadmaps for testing and implementing their products
• Prepare expert assessments of HV battery workplace safety to support process development for logistics, production, and service centers

Your profile:

• Expert in international HV battery regulations and standards, using this knowledge to generate system requirements that optimize safety, reliability, and performance with focus on European and Chinese legislation
• 5 to 10 years of experience in battery engineering, ideally with experience ranging from cell to system
• PhD, or BS or MS with expert capability in reviewing technical documentation and presenting complex topics to a general audience
• Experience in supplier assessments, techno-economic analyses, and roadmap development
• Profound diplomatic skills to work with colleagues of varying technical and commercial backgrounds and seniority
• Strong written, verbal and presentation skills in English with Italian or German a plus , other languages advantageous
