Trial Attorney – Project Based, Temporary

• Handle legal work on assigned cases
• Aggressively pursue files referred to Staff Counsel by the Claims Department
• Create and maintain documented case-handling strategies
• Develop, organize, and maintain files containing pleadings, briefs, and memorandums
• Prepare and submit timely status reports to claims handlers on significant activities, no greater than 60-day intervals
• Ensure files are properly documented and organized
• Respond promptly to telephone calls and correspondence
• Use or ensure use of case management software for notes, diary, calendar, billing, and assigned case management
• Operate in accordance with company guidelines, procedures, and legal and ethical requirements

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience as a trial attorney
• Handling of insurance defense work is preferred
• Member of the State Bar
• Maintain all necessary licensing and continuing education requirements
• Required to travel as needed
• Must reside in the Houston, TX area
• Must be able to work remotely
