Your tasks

• Realisation of the open‑source SFB computational platform based on OpenFOAM in collaboration with projects C6 and C7.
• Integration and further development of I/O and dedicated pre‑/post‑processing functionalities, including a graphical user interface (GUI).
• Design and implementation of validation/verification strategies for all physical models in the solver.
• Design and implementation of parallelisation paradigms (hybrid CPU/GPU) and optimisation of parallel efficiency.
• Analysis, design and implementation of data assimilation strategies, especially with project C6.

Your profile

• Degree (Bachelor to Doctorate) in Computing Science, Engineering or Mathematics.
• Deep knowledge of C++ programming.
• Experience in collaborative software development environments (Git, GitLab).
• Experience with continuous integration testing methods.
• Python and shell scripting expertise.
• Parallelisation and optimisation techniques (GPU/CPU).
• GUI programming and visualisation tools (e.g. VTK).
• Excellent written and verbal German and English (TOEFL/GRE/C1 certificates).
• Strong self‑motivation, teamwork and communication skills with research partners.

Further information

The position is salaried based on the collective agreement of the Länder (TV‑L). If the personal and collective agreement requirements are met, the employee receives grade 13 TV‑L.
