Vice President Portfolio Management – Project Finance Energy & TMT (f/m/x)

In this role you proactively manage a portfolio of project finance transactions, primarily in Energy and TMT sectors, driving risk-controlled growth and yield optimisation. You collaborate with internal partners and clients to prepare solid loan applications, analyse complex structures, and monitor portfolio performance. You contribute to risk assessments, handle restructurings when needed, and help shape local and global initiatives. You will work in a diverse, international environment to advance ING’s sustainable and innovative financing agenda.

• Manage a portfolio of project finance transactions in Energy and TMT sectors
• Handle refinancing, loan conditions, reviews, analyses, and ongoing monitoring
• Implement capital allocation measures to control risk and optimise yields
• Prepare high-quality loan applications and decision templates
• Work with financial models, loan documents, and legal analyses to support client decisions
• Address non-performing loans, watchlist cases, and restructurings to mitigate risk
• Communicate with customers, sponsors, advisors and internal teams to align on risk and yield
• Lead portfolio analyses and monitor industry/sector trends; contribute to initiatives

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in economics / business administration / finance or a comparable qualification
• Several years of relevant wholesale banking experience
• Proficiency in lending, project finance, or Energy / TMT sectors (ideally)
• Strong understanding of loan documentation in specialised lending / structured finance
• Excellent know-how of financial modelling, loan analysis, and credit reports/votes
• Proficiency in MS Office, Copilot, and rating tools
• Exceptional communication, independent work style, high attention to detail
• Adaptable team player with openness to international environments
