> Scope: Full-time > Contract term: through August 15, 2028 > Compensation: TV-L EG 9a > Start date: as soon as possible For the Communications and Information Center (kiz), Infrastructure Department, we are seeking a Windows Server and Desktop Computing System Administrator (m/f/d) With approximately 130 employees, the kiz is the second-largest central facility at the University of Ulm and provides services in the areas of library, information technology, and media for research, teaching, student affairs, and administration. The Infrastructure Department is responsible for the entire network infrastructure, the provision of basic IT equipment, a high-performance computing cluster, and other system-related services provided by a modern IT center. Your Profile: Completed vocational training as an IT specialist Detailed knowledge of Windows operating systems Experience with desktop management software Basic knowledge of virtualization solutions Very good written and spoken German Strong communication and teamwork skills, as well as a responsible and cooperative work ethic Detailed knowledge of Windows Server and Active Directory Experience with scripting languages is desirable Your Responsibilities: Implementation of the concept for operating integrated Windows systems (e.g., Active Directory, file services, print services, update management, software distribution), as well as modernization and expansion of the underlying system architecture for university-wide services Administration of Windows servers and Windows clients, including user and object management in the Active Directory directory service Collaboration on the development of a concept for the university-wide expansion of desktop computing Expansion and operation of the Managed Desktop Computing service, including the selection, procurement, installation, and configuration of PC hardware; testing, installing, and releasing updates and security patches; and remote software distribution and installation 2nd Level Support Performing software distribution and installation using the deployed desktop management software We offer: Work from home / remote work – secure work environment Job ticket for public transportation JobBike BW Compensation in accordance with the TV-L collective bargaining agreement, including an annual bonus as specified in the agreement Seize this opportunity and help shape the university with us! > Reference No.: 26145 > Application deadline: by October 23, 2026 Hiring is conducted by the Central University Administration.
