Wireless Communications Systems Engineer

As a Wireless Communications Systems Engineer at Helsing, you design and integrate modern wireless and SDR-based systems for demanding environments. You contribute across RF, embedded, and software domains to deliver field-ready capabilities that support Helsing’s mission to protect democracies. You’ll work with interdisciplinary teams on architecture, prototyping, and optimisation, leveraging edge computing platforms. • Design and optimise wireless and SDR-based systems from link-budget analysis to deployed signal-processing solutions
• Prototype, test, and debug on embedded/edge platforms (Raspberry Pi, NVIDIA Jetson, microcontrollers)
• Develop Python and C/C++ software and configure Linux-based systems for real-world use
• Define cross-domain system architectures bridging RF, embedded, and software
• Tune end-to-end performance to meet reliability and field-readiness targets

• Degree in communications, electrical/telecommunications engineering, computer science with embedded/wireless focus, or equivalent practical expertise
• Strong grasp of digital wireless communications and SDR tools (e.g., GNU Radio) including link-budget analysis and DSP
• Experience building and integrating embedded Linux systems with hands-on Python development
• Ability to translate complex concepts into actionable guidance for technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Structured, methodical work style and effective collaboration in interdisciplinary teams
• Clear communication in German and English
