Aircraft Mechanic 2 AH‑64 – A&P or FCC License – Illesheim, Germany

Responsibilities

• A valid (FAA) A&P certificate or FCC License (with Elements 1 and 3) is required for hire.
• With a valid FAA (A&P): a minimum of two (2) years aviation maintenance experience and two (2) years on the assigned AH‑64 MDS Mission Design Series are required.
• US citizenship is required to obtain the NAC‑I (T‑1) clearance and for base access at this German facility.
• Must possess a valid US passport.
• Perform the full range of military tactical aircraft maintenance with primary expertise as an AH‑64 mechanic, including assembly and modification on a variety of Army and other DoD cross‑service aircraft, major assemblies, sub‑assemblies, components, and related systems.
• Install, connect, and adjust complete systems such as fuel, heat, lubrication, hydraulic, engine, and transmission; install and align fuselage parts; balance, align, and install tail rotor assemblies; rig complete flight‑control systems.
• Incorporate authorized modifications and changes.
• Make operational checks of hydraulic and fuel systems using external power sources and powered ground equipment.
• Inspect and troubleshoot to determine cause of malfunctions; disassemble to point of trouble; adjust, repair, realign, or replace defective component or assembly.
• Use a variety of common hand tools and measuring devices such as gauges, torque wrenches, and scales, and test, measurement, and diagnostic equipment related to specific aircraft models.
• Determine when faulty systems or assemblies can be corrected through repair or replacement of new parts and the extent of repair required.
• Read, apply, and interpret technical data.
• Prepare forms and records related to aircraft maintenance.
• Perform additional duties as required.

Minimum Requirements

• High school graduate or equivalent is required.
• Five (5) years of recent applicable aircraft maintenance experience is required.
• A valid (FAA) A&P certificate or FCC License (with Elements 1 and 3) is required for hire.
• All experience must be within the five (5) most recent years.
• Without an FAA A&P: must possess or be able to obtain an FCC License with Elements 1 and 3 and have three (3) years aviation maintenance experience, three (3) years rotary‑wing aircraft experience, and two (2) years on the assigned AH‑64 Mission Design Series.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a US government security clearance, NAC‑I T1 Public Trust. US citizenship is required to obtain a T1/CAC NAC‑I clearance and for facility and base access.
• Interim NAC‑I approval required for deployment.
• Valid US passport is required for deployment to Germany.

Germany Specific

• TESA approval (German government): must qualify for TESA approval; with five years total aviation maintenance experience.
• Travel as required in support of task order.

Knowledge & Skills

• Good communication skills; be adaptable, diversified, and capable of troubleshooting entire aircraft systems.
• Working knowledge of electrical, electronic, mechanical, and associated system principles to complete all probable work tasks.
• Knowledge of quality control, production, and supply procedures required to perform job assignment.
• Determine when faulty systems or assemblies can be corrected through repair or replacement of new parts and the extent of repair required.
• Read, apply, and interpret technical data.

Physical Requirements / Working Environment

• Climb, stand, stoop, bend, stretch, crouch, and work in tiring and uncomfortable positions.
• Frequently lift parts and equipment up to 20 pounds.
• Occasionally lift objects up to 50 pounds.
• Immediately deployable to potential combat areas worldwide.
