Campus - Gearbox Structural Simulation Engineer

Your Responsibilities

As a trainee in our simulation team, you will be introduced to the fundamentals and advanced techniques of structural analysis within the field of wind turbine gearboxes. Your tasks will evolve over time as your experience grows, and may include:

Supporting the development and execution of simulations for structural components such as housings, planetary carriers, bearings, and gears
Assisting in the development of simulation strategies to improve the system‑level understanding of gearbox and drivetrain behavior
Helping to build and validate finite element (FE) models to assess strength, fatigue life, stiffness, and vibration under real‑world operating conditions
Collaborating with interdisciplinary, global teams across design, testing, and manufacturing to interpret measurement and test data for continuous product improvement
Participating in prototype testing activities to help refine and calibrate simulation models using test results
Documenting your findings and contributing to technical presentations and development recommendations

Your Profile

A university degree (Bachelor’s or Master’s) in Mechanical Engineering, Simulation Technology, or a related field, ideally with a focus on drivetrains or gear systems
First experience (e.g. through internships, student projects, or thesis work) in the simulation or design of mechanical or structural components
Familiarity with modern simulation tools, ideally with some exposure to ANSYS Workbench
Basic understanding of finite element modeling and mechanical fatigue/life calculations
Interest in the influence of manufacturing tolerances on component behavior
A structured, analytical mindset and eagerness to develop your technical skills
Strong communication skills in English, both written and spoken
