Job Title: Cell Design Engineer

A leading innovator in lithium-ion battery technology is seeking a Cell Design Engineer to contribute to the electrochemical design of battery cells for various applications. In this role you will be supporting through all aspects of cell design, ensuring alignment with customer needs and company objectives, from concept to qualification.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in creating and executing test plans to assess the electrochemical performance of new cell designs, working closely with the Testing Team to gather qualification data.


• Support the investigation and resolution of cell design issues, offering technical insights and implementing corrective actions where needed.


• Contribute to the development and protection of intellectual property to strengthen the company’s competitive advantage.


• Collaborate with suppliers, R&D, and the Operations Team to innovate cell chemistries that meet the objectives of various projects.


• Ensure the seamless integration of new cell designs into the product development lifecycle by maintaining effective communication with cross-functional teams.

Requirements:

• At least 4 years of experience in electrochemical cell design.


• Master's or PhD degree in Engineering or a related field, with expertise in electrochemistry, materials science, or mechanical engineering.


• Hands-on experience in electrodes processing, pouch cell design, failure analysis, and understanding the relationship between cell design and electrochemical performance.


• Proficiency with cell assembly/disassembly, electrochemical testing (e.g., cyclic testing, EIS, rate capability, GITT), and data analysis
