An excellent Construction Project Manager must be well-versed in all construction methodologies and procedures and able to coordinate a team of professionals of different disciplines to achieve the best results. The ideal candidate will have an analytical mind and great organizational skills.

The goal will be to ensure all projects are delivered on time according to requirements and without exceeding budget.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with engineers, architects etc. to determine the specifications of the project
  • Negotiate contracts with external vendors to reach profitable agreements
  • Obtain permits and licenses from appropriate authorities
  • Determine needed resources (manpower, equipment and materials) from start to finish with attention to budgetary limitations
  • Plan all construction operations and schedule intermediate phases to ensure deadlines will be met
  • Acquire equipment and material and monitor stocks to timely handle inadequacies
  • Supervise the work of labourers, mechanics etc. and give them guidance when needed
  • Evaluate progress and prepare detailed reports
  • Ensure adherence to all health and safety standards and report issues
  • Managing all aspects of projects from start to finish, including planning, scheduling, and supervising work crews
  • Leading the establishment of the overall success criteria for the project, including time, cost, technical and performance parameters
  • Coordinating with architects, engineers, and allied trades to ensure the full scope of the systems are clear and implemented correctly
  • Project planning, including ensuring the production of the detailed project plan
  • Managing the flow of project information between the team, through regular meetings and written communications
  • Monitoring project costs and scheduling for on-time completion of projects
  • Reviewing blueprints, drawings, and plans to ensure that systems are constructable
  • Establishing and maintaining relationships with clients to ensure satisfaction with work performed
  • Communicating with clients throughout the construction process to ensure they are satisfied with the progress of projects
  • Health and Safety, Observe safety regulations
  • Conform to local and national laws and guidelines, and Reporting

Experience & Education

  • Requirements and skills
  • Proven experience as construction project manager
  • In-depth understanding of construction procedures and material and project management principles
  • Familiarity with quality and health and safety standards
  • Good knowledge of MS Office
  • Familiarity with construction/ project management software
  • Outstanding communication and negotiation skills
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills
  • A team player with leadership abilities
  • PMP or equivalent certification will be an advantage
  • BSc in Construction Management/Engineering (civil/structures) – Preferred but not essential
  • Minimum of 10 years of general construction experience – CM role held previously must include management of minimum €10m of scope on a single project, preferably in the construction/MEP/CSA project Management capacity
  • A thorough understanding of the total project life cycle, from project conception stage, through all of the operational stages to completion and post-project review.
