Project: Snowflake Data Warehouse Development with dbt - Energy & Commodities Sector

Description
A client in the energy and commodities sector is undertaking a large-scale data transformation programme to modernise its analytics and reporting capabilities. As part of this, they are building a new Snowflake-based data warehouse, with dbt at the core of their data transformation workflows. They are looking for an experienced data engineer to join the project and help shape the future of their data platform.


Tasks
• Design, build, and optimise data models in Snowflake
• Develop robust transformation pipelines using dbt
• Collaborate with business stakeholders (trading, risk, operations, finance) to capture and deliver data requirements
• Ensure code quality with testing, documentation, and CI/CD best practices
• Contribute to the overall architecture and data governance strategy


Requirements
• Strong hands-on experience with Snowflake (data modelling, query optimisation, user/role management)
• Proven track record with dbt (model development, macros, testing, documentation)
• Excellent SQL skills and solid understanding of modern ELT/ETL patterns
• Familiarity with Git-based workflows and CI/CD for data projects
• Industry knowledge in energy, commodities, or financial services is advantageous
• Fluent English; other European languages are a plus


Project Details
• Start: ASAP
• Duration: 6+ months (option to extend)
• Workload: Full-time
• Location: Remote (occasional onsite workshops possible within Europe)
• Languages: English (additional languages welcome)
