This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of Derex Technologies Inc. We are currently looking for a Data Modeler in Texas (USA).

In this role, you will play a critical part in shaping enterprise data strategies by designing and maintaining conceptual, logical, and physical data models that support complex business requirements. You will collaborate closely with business stakeholders and technical SMEs to align data structures with reporting, analytics, and integration needs. The position involves working with ETL specialists, offshore teams, and cloud-based environments to ensure high-quality, scalable, and optimized data solutions. This is an opportunity to influence key decision-making through data architecture, while contributing to innovative projects in a dynamic and collaborative environment.

Accountabilities:

·         Work with business and technical SMEs to understand data consumption and reporting needs.

·         Analyze source system structures and map data elements to common data models.

·         Design and maintain conceptual, logical, and physical schemas across acquisition, integration, and analytical layers.

·         Collaborate with ETL teams on data mappings, conversion rules, and integration solutions.

·         Support data model version control and ensure consistency across environments.

·         Coordinate with offshore developers and testers to deliver high-quality data solutions.

·         Provide guidance on best practices for database design and optimization in cloud or on-premise environments.

Requirements

·         Proven experience in data modeling using tools such as Erwin or similar.

·         Strong expertise in SQL, Oracle, or appliance databases.

·         Hands-on experience with BI technologies including ETL, reporting, and data quality.

·         Solid understanding of database design principles and data integration best practices.

·         Experience collaborating with cross-functional and geographically distributed teams.

·         Excellent problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

·         Preferred: Experience designing and developing cloud-based solutions in Azure or AWS.
