Your Role

• As the Engineering Manager, you will lead the team, which is responsible for our mission-critical mobile core services.
• Together with your team colleagues, you will work on design, implementation, and operation of emnify mobile core which is an implementation of essential 3GPP mobile core components like SIGTRAN and Diameter routers, HLR/HSS, AuC or SMSC enabling emnify to provide service to customer devices in more than 400 mobile networks worldwide by using an emnify SIM card.
• You will lead a cross-functional team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and performance.
• Within our current state of growth, you will have the unique opportunity to shape the direction of the platform architecture and the growth of the team.

Your Impact

• Fostering a highly collaborative team environment by enabling team performance and providing required technical and organizational guidance; ensure focus on company goals and priorities.
• Serve as people manager for the team, leverage coaching and mentoring techniques to unlock potential of individuals reporting to you.
• Support roadmap planning, monitor progress and ensure quality standards.
• Be a sparring partner for the team’s technical and architectural decisions.
• Bring in innovative ideas from the industry.

Your Skills

• Hands-on manager, able to lead a team as well as contribute to code and review PRs as necessary.
• Experience with mobile telecommunication core network technologies and solutions; exposure to SS7, Diameter, SIGTRAN protocols; understanding of mobile 3GPP technologies and architectures (2G, 3G, 4G, 5G).
• Experience with designing, building and operating real-time, resilient, globally distributed, high throughput (thousands transactions per second) and scalable applications/systems.
• Strong background in developing complex software systems as software engineer using Java, Go, C/C++ is a bonus.
• Experience applying modern distributed software architecture frameworks (microservices / event-driven).
• Experience with modern DevOps technologies (docker, terraform, jenkins, kubernetes, prometheus, grafana).
• Experience working with the AWS public cloud infrastructure.
