Site Manager Dairy Facilities (Germany EU Projects)

Start Date : Mid-2026 (interim EU project work available prior to main start)

Contract Type : Freelance renewable

Location : Germany (with potential support for projects across the EU)

Language Requirement : Fluent German (non-negotiable)

Overview

We are seeking experienced Site Managers with proven expertise in Dairy processing facility construction and commissioning to join a major Food & Beverage capital project in Germany starting mid-2026.

The client is initiating early discussions with selected candidates to share the scope, schedule, and technical requirements of the project, with potential opportunities to contribute to interim project execution across the EU before the main start date.

This role requires a hands-on leader who can combine construction oversight, quality management, and safety leadership with the ability to coordinate complex engineering activities in a live food production environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead site execution during installation and commissioning of process and packaging systems for Dairy production facilities.
• Work closely with the Project Manager to ensure delivery on scope, quality, schedule, and cost.
• Manage daily whiteboard meetings to align stakeholders, track progress, and address issues.
• Oversee and coordinate contractors, engineers, and technical teams from multiple suppliers.
• Participate in Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs) to validate equipment readiness before shipment.
• Implement and enforce Occupational Health & Safety (OHS) protocols, including hot work, working at height, LOTO, and confined space safety.
• Maintain strict food hygiene and cleanliness standards, including operator hygiene protocols, cleanroom access control, and waste handling.
• Proactively escalate project issues affecting safety, quality, cost, or delivery, and coordinate resolutions with internal and client teams.
• Manage change requests and ensure contractual compliance with all site modifications.
• Protect customer property, equipment, and intellectual property at all times.

Essential Skills & Experience

• Demonstrated experience managing installation and commissioning for Dairy processing facilities (milk, cheese, yoghurt, or related).
• Strong background in Food & Beverage construction with both mechanical and electrical installation exposure.
• Proven leadership in site and contractor management for complex capital projects.
• Fluent in German (spoken and written) and comfortable managing multinational teams.
• Strong knowledge of HSE regulations, food industry hygiene practices, and EU project compliance requirements.
• Effective communicator with a collaborative approach to working with clients, engineers, and suppliers.
• Flexibility to contribute to interim projects across Benelux / EU prior to the main start date.
