Field Application Engineer (Remote - US)

This role provides technical leadership and hands-on support for audio and video networking solutions, bridging the gap between cutting-edge technology and customer success. You will work closely with AV equipment manufacturers and software vendors to integrate, troubleshoot, and optimize high-performance Dante solutions. The position involves collaborating with internal engineering and sales teams, delivering presales support, and guiding customers through product development. This is a dynamic, customer-facing role requiring technical expertise across software, hardware, FPGA, and network systems. The successful candidate will thrive in a fast-paced, globally distributed environment and have the opportunity to shape how leading organizations implement AV technology. Occasional local and international travel is expected to support customers and projects.

Accountabilities

• Serve as the primary technical point of contact for licensees and customers across the Americas region.
• Investigate, debug, and provide workarounds for technical issues, escalating to engineering when necessary.
• Collaborate with sales teams to address OEM technical needs during presales activities.
• Deliver introductory and advanced technical training on product development, SDKs, and evaluation kits.
• Monitor and support customer product development progress, providing guidance and documentation.
• Generate technical documentation and contribute to best practices for AV system integration.
• Maintain knowledge of emerging AV technologies, video codecs, embedded systems, and networking standards.

Requirements

• BSc in Computer Software, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Proven experience in a customer-facing or field engineering role.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts.
• Excellent problem-solving skills with a hands-on approach to troubleshooting.
• Fluency in English; additional languages are a plus.
• Familiarity with embedded SoCs, embedded Linux, video codec technologies (H.26x, JPEG2000), and high-speed video interfaces (HDMI, SDI, CSI).
• Knowledge of protocols and interfaces such as SPI, UART, I²S, and I²C, and FPGA platforms (e.g., Xilinx Zynq).
• Understanding of electronics hardware design, board-level debugging, and Ethernet/IP networking fundamentals (DHCP, DNS, subnets, VLANs, multicast, QoS).
• Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and adapt to a fast-paced, evolving environment.
