Job Summary
We are BD, a global medical technology company. The Technical Field Service Engineer (f/m/d) will provide technical service to customers for infusion and Pyxis products in West Germany. This role collaborates with Sales and Customer Service to deliver maintenance, installation, repair, and training.
Location
Field-based in West Germany (Heidelberg, Tullastrasse). Travel up to 70% required.

Role Overview
Hands‑on, passionate, high‑energy, proactive, dynamic Technician with a startup, value‑driven, consultative mindset.
Duties
- Customer site activities: maintenance of infusion & Pyxis products, repair, installation & implementation of CFN infusion products, sales support.
- Technical hot line support.
- Technical training.
- Service contracts.
- Service provider coordination.
- Service administration.
Responsibilities
- Develop technical service and cross‑functional relationships to enhance the service function.
- Serve as the technical subject‑matter expert for product installation, implementation, repair, troubleshooting, and maintenance.
- Provide technical support and advice to customer service and sales for contract and tendering quotations.
- Act as the country representative for infusion pumps & Pyxis products regarding escalations, complaint focus, and technical updates.
- Proactively propose organizational changes to optimize local GCS processes.
- Identify opportunities for additional service revenue generation.
- Participate in GCS standardization efforts.
- Adhere to organization and department policies, quality procedures, and protocols.
- Ensure all service communication literature complies with BD Brand Identity and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications
- Bachelor or technical degree (Electrical or Biomedical).
- Experience as a Biomedical Technician, ideally in medical devices.
- Fluent in German; good knowledge of English (oral & written).
- Strong technical orientation; ability to troubleshoot problems logically.
- Proficient in MS Office.
- Basic IT knowledge (MSSQL database and PL/SQL scripting).
- Ability to translate strategic vision into operational excellence.
- Performance oriented; can meet agreed targets.
- Travel up to 70%.
- Excellent presentation and communication skills.
- Ability to train others on technical matters.
- Effective interaction with internal and external staff under pressure.
- Team player working closely with Sales and Customer Service.
Compensation
Salary range: 63,600 € – 108,100 € EUR annual.
