    This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of Agile Six Applications. We are currently looking for a Frontend Engineer in United States.

    As a Frontend Engineer, you will contribute to building accessible, high-performance, and scalable web applications that impact millions of users. Working within a collaborative, autonomous team, you will develop and optimize user-facing features, integrate with backend services, and continuously improve application performance. You will leverage modern frontend frameworks, cloud-based infrastructure, and AI-assisted tools to deliver innovative solutions. This role emphasizes hands-on coding, thoughtful problem solving, and close collaboration across cross-functional teams. You will play a critical role in shaping digital experiences that are both user-friendly and technically robust, while supporting a culture of learning, mentorship, and innovation.

    Accountabilities:

    • Build and maintain accessible, performant, and scalable frontend applications using React (TypeScript/JavaScript) and modern component patterns.
    • Integrate frontend components with backend services and APIs, ensuring secure and accurate data rendering.
    • Use AI-powered IDEs to assist in coding, testing, debugging, and improving software quality.
    • Write and maintain automated unit, integration, functional, load, and accessibility tests for all delivered functionality.
    • Continuously monitor and optimize application and infrastructure performance using tools such as Datadog.
    • Participate in pair programming, code reviews, and post-mortems to foster a culture of learning and continuous improvement.
    • Leverage cloud infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines to ensure reliable, high-frequency deployments.
    • Mentor and share knowledge within the engineering community, contributing to team growth and technical excellence.

    Requirements

    • 4+ years of professional engineering experience, with in-depth knowledge of at least one frontend technology stack.
    • 3+ years of recent experience with React and JavaScript/TypeScript.
    • Experience with AI tools and services to enhance software development outcomes.
    • Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and cloud infrastructure (AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, or similar).
    • Knowledge of measurement and monitoring tools and application observability best practices.
    • Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
    • Preferred: Production experience with Ruby on Rails and/or Drupal.
    • Preferred: Experience delivering software for federal agencies or familiarity with VA.gov platforms.
    • Strong collaboration, problem-solving, and communication skills.
