Part of Oak View Group (OVG), Rhubarb is a premium hospitality collective specialising in luxury event catering, restaurant dining and hospitality. Rhubarb delivers unique dining and venue management at some of the world’s most iconic locations. Rhubarb Hospitality Collection (RHC) is excited to announce a new venture at the waterfront of Westfield Hamburg-Überseequartier – introducing Elemente Restaurant and AirBar 13. Elemente will be a South American restaurant and bar inspired by fire, water, wind and earth, with Air Bar 13 offering a 360-degree panoramic view of the Elbe, HafenCity and Hamburg’s city centre. The restaurant complex covers about 1,300 square meters and is operated by the Rhubarb Hospitality Collection (RHC). RHC is a premier hospitality company with branches in the USA, the UK, and Germany.

The role is to lead our people strategy in Germany as part of the leadership team, taking ownership of recruitment and employee experience across our growing German portfolio, and navigating German employment law with support from our global HR network.

Role Purpose

As a key member of our German leadership team, you'll be the driving force behind our people strategy. You'll need to be a self-starter who thrives on independence while leveraging support from our global HR network. From recruiting world-class talent for our restaurant openings to navigating complex German employment law, you'll shape the employee experience across our growing German portfolio.

What You'll Do

• Lead recruitment and onboarding for major restaurant openings (95+ staff for Elemente alone!)
• Manage employee relations, contracts, and compliance across multiple locations
• Develop training programs and career pathways for hospitality teams
• Navigate German employment law and labour relations with confidence
• Partner with global HR team while maintaining local expertise
• Support new project launches and business expansion

What We're Looking For

• Proven HR generalist experience, ideally in hospitality/restaurants
• Strong expertise in German employment law and regulations
• Self-sufficient leader who can work independently
• Excellent recruitment and talent management skills
• Experience with training, employee relations, and contract management
• Fluent German and English
• Passion for creating exceptional workplace cultures
