This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of Interclypse. We are currently looking for an Information Systems Security Engineer (ISSE) in Maryland (USA).

This role provides an exciting opportunity to design, implement, and secure complex information systems in a highly dynamic environment. The Information Systems Security Engineer will support government clients by applying deep knowledge of cybersecurity principles, risk assessments, and system architecture. You will work with multi-enclave systems, ensuring security and compliance with federal, DoD, and intelligence community standards. The position emphasizes continuous learning and career growth while contributing to impactful projects that strengthen mission-critical IT environments. Collaboration with cross-functional teams and mentorship opportunities are key aspects of the role, allowing you to shape both your expertise and that of your peers. This on-site position provides hands-on experience with advanced technologies and defense-in-depth strategies.

Accountabilities

• Design, develop, and integrate secure information assurance architectures, systems, and components.
• Provide technical guidance to ensure system architectures are functional, compliant, and secure across program-of-record systems and special-purpose environments.
• Conduct system and network designs encompassing multiple enclaves, including environments with differing data protection and classification requirements.
• Apply knowledge of IA policies and procedures to secure networking, computing, and enclave operations.
• Utilize defense-in-depth principles for access control, authentication, PKI, and enterprise security architecture.
• Perform security risk assessments, vulnerability analyses, and threat modeling to inform system development.
• Stay current with federal, DoD, NSA, and IC security regulations, publications, and policies to maintain compliance.

Requirements

• Experience as a System Architect and Engineer (IASAE) or equivalent, including recent hands-on experience with defense-in-depth technology.
• Strong understanding of access/control, authorization, identification, authentication, and network security principles.
• Proven ability to apply risk assessment methodology and conduct vulnerability analyses.
• Knowledge of federal, DoD, NSA, and intelligence community information security policies and procedures.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with a commitment to high-quality technical work.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills for working effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
• Desire for continuous learning and ability to take initiative in a hands-on, on-site environment.
