Overview

Lead Product Designer (Full Time/Flexible) at Chainflip. Chainflip is building the next generation of native cross-chain financial infrastructure, starting with seamless asset swapping and expanding into cross-chain lending. We enable users to swap major crypto assets like BTC, ETH, and SOL across chains — without wrapped tokens — and have already processed almost $4 billion in trades since launch. Chainflip runs its own blockchain and a network of validators that control vaults across multiple ecosystems, making the user experience smooth, secure, and fast. We are building a generalised cross-chain lending product, allowing users to borrow and lend native assets like BTC, ETH, or USDC directly, with no friction and no need to wrap, bridge, or manage multiple wallets.

What’s the Job?

We’re looking for a Lead Product Designer with experience designing crypto or DeFi products, who understands the unique UX challenges of decentralised products and wants to push them forward. You’ll own the design across our product portfolio, from our cross-chain swapping platform to our upcoming lending product, enabling users to borrow and lend native assets across chains. These are some of the most complex UX problems in the space, and we’re solving them in ways no one else is.

Your job is to deeply understand our users by defining, experimenting and iterating to solve these problems. You’ll help us eliminate friction, abstract away complexity, and design experiences that feel seamless, even when powered by multiple blockchains.

The Product team is a lean cross-functional team composed of Engineers, a Product Lead, and soon a Lead Product Designer. We support flexible working arrangements to accommodate existing freelance work you may have.

Responsibilities

• Lead projects from discovery to launch, balancing attention to detail with low-fidelity sketches as needed
• Align input from business goals, technical requirements, and data to design concepts that can be tested with users and partners
• Create user flows, user journeys, interactive prototypes, and MVPs for testing using Figma
• Design across web and mobile while ensuring the experience meets expectations
• Collaborate with cross-functional peers to drive product strategy and a holistic user experience
• Address the unique UX challenges of DeFi and multi‑chain interactions

Who Should Apply?

• You’re based in Europe and open to Berlin as your location
• You have 5+ years in a design role (UX/Product/Interaction) with experience in financial products and mastery of Figma
• You have a strong portfolio demonstrating problem-solving and craft
• You have hands-on experience driving projects from discovery to launch, including user testing and research
• You have a strategic mindset balancing user experience and business needs
• You are passionate about solving complex problems with design in DeFi
• You are eager to explore DeFi with us
