Join Thüga SmartService in Germany as a Lead Engineer responsible for the operation and further development of our SQL AlwaysOn database cluster system. You will oversee system analysis, performance tuning, and ensure reliable backup/recovery solutions.

Responsibilities

• Operation and continuous improvement of the SQL AlwaysOn database cluster.
• System analysis and troubleshooting of performance issues such as memory leaks, deadlocks, and bottlenecks.
• Monitoring, alerting, and proactive performance optimization.
• Automating database systems and related processes.
• Supporting the implementation and evolution of backup/recovery concepts.
• Applying least‑privilege principles to database security models.
• Assessing security requirements derived from certifications and documenting solutions.

Qualifications

• Completed studies in Computer Science or equivalent IT training.
• Minimum 3 years experience administering database systems and networks.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft SQL (or comparable databases).
• Experience with Windows operating systems, storage, virtualization, and network layers (TCP/IP).
• Familiarity with hardware firewalls, anti‑virus, and patch management.
• Flexibility for on‑call duties and flexible working hours.
• Excellent written and spoken German (C1).
