This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of dbt Labs. We are currently looking for a Lead IT Systems Engineer in the United States.

Join a high-impact enterprise technology team as a Lead IT Systems Engineer, where you’ll provide both technical leadership and hands-on execution for a rapidly growing, remote-first workforce. In this role, you will architect and maintain identity, access, and collaboration systems while building secure, scalable infrastructure that supports the organization’s business objectives. You’ll work across security, cloud, and enterprise systems, driving automation, governance, and operational excellence. This position offers opportunities for strategic growth, mentoring engineers, and shaping the technology landscape to enhance both security and productivity across the company.

Accountabilities

  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to a team of systems engineers, setting direction and guiding best practices.
  • Architect, implement, and maintain identity management systems using Okta Identity Engine and Okta Workflows, including secure access frameworks with Teleport.
  • Administer and automate enterprise SaaS platforms such as Google Workspace, Slack, Zoom, Notion, and Jamf.
  • Manage endpoint provisioning and compliance in a MacOS-first environment.
  • Develop automated workflows for user and system lifecycle management using scripting and APIs (Python, Bash).
  • Provision and manage cloud infrastructure resources across AWS, GCP, and Azure.
  • Collaborate with engineering and platform teams to ensure secure and timely access to resources.
  • Enhance and manage DLP tooling and access governance across collaboration platforms.
  • Lead incident management processes related to access or enterprise tooling.
  • Maintain system documentation, SOPs, and architecture diagrams while evaluating new tools and services to improve security and automation.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of experience in enterprise systems engineering with demonstrated technical leadership and architectural decision-making.
  • Proven experience with identity management systems, specifically Okta Identity Engine and Okta Workflows.
  • Expertise in designing secure access frameworks using Teleport and applying least-privilege and RBAC principles.
  • Strong knowledge of multi-cloud environments (AWS, GCP, Azure) with a focus on architecture, security, and resource planning.
  • Leadership experience in integrating and managing SaaS platforms (Google Workspace, Slack, Zoom, Notion, Jamf).
  • Ability to design endpoint management strategies for MacOS environments balancing security and user experience.
  • Experience in automation development, code review, API integration, and workflow scripting.
  • Knowledge of DLP frameworks, governance policies, and enterprise security strategies.
  • Strong incident response leadership and team coordination skills.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and ability to communicate complex technical concepts to cross-functional teams.
