Maltego Transform Developer (m/w/d)

Maltego is a visual link analysis tool that comes with a standard set of data connectors called Transforms and offers real-time data mining and information gathering. Maltego works with Open Source Intelligence (OSINT) data out the box and gives users the ability to connect their own data via Maltego’s server products or make use of the data provided by Maltego’s Transform hub partners. For more than 10 years, Maltego has been empowering investigators around the world to make sense of data.

Today, we have a large userbase, ranging from individual cybersecurity consultants to security professionals in large tech companies, from fraud teams in international banks to investigators in government agencies.

Maltego Tech is a newly founded company based in Munich, Germany and a close partner of Paterva, the original creators of Maltego. Together, we further expand Maltego’s global footprint, establish new data partnerships, and develop new features to serve our global community.

Why we need you

Maltego uses transforms - pieces of code - to pull data from public sources and our data partners into the tool. We are looking for a developer who can work with the industry to integrate their data into our products. Our transforms aid investigators in many different fields, including law enforcement, financial crime investigations, cyber-security analysts, pen-testers, as well as large enterprise customers. The integrations with our partners are tailor-made to ensure reliable and high-performance access to our partners’ data. We require a developer that is self-driven, interested in learning about the various industries and can communicate well.

What to expect

Maltego is rapidly expanding its offering for out-of-the-box access to the myriad of data sources available to investigators around the world. Your role will include the design of transforms and the implementation thereof. We typically work in languages such as Java and Python, and data is mostly provided through restful APIs and databases. Your transforms will ensure that the users of our tool experience seamless access to our data partners’ data, and a new way to provide their services to our users. You will work together with our data partner team, product designers, and engineering teams to build new and interesting ways to access a variety of sources.

Your profile in short

• Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related
• Experience in writing API connectors and scalable applications
• Experienced Java and Python developer or similar (1+ year full-time experience)
• Skilled at database integrations, enterprise-level, distributed and scalable applications
• Good experience with application frameworks such as Spring for Java, nodejs, and alike
• Fluent in English, a love for challenges and a willingness to learn
