THE ROLE:
The Manager Software Development (m/f/d) is the disciplinary superior of one or more development teams and is responsible to organize and supervise its activities. The manager (m/f/d) has a decisive influence on feature developments and has responsibility for projects, technologies and software architecture.
TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Creation of a positive team culture through transparent communication, coaching and employee reviews
- Plan and coordinate training measures
- Conduct employee performance evaluations
- Define, implement, and continuously improve software development processes, integrating innovative approaches to enhance product quality and team efficiency
- Lead the implementation of software projects, including maintenance, feature development, and technology modernization, ensuring alignment with product goals and organizational strategies
- Coordination of the roadmap with the product management team
- Organize communication with other departments (QA, TechDoc, presales, support, etc.)
- Contribute to software designs and architecture for new software components and their implementation
- Ensure adherence to development processes and the SDLC
- Technical and supervisory responsibility for the teams
- Execute technical leadership and drive team development.
- Deliver assigned products or product components in expected quality
- Oversee development, maintenance, and continuous improvement (bug fixes, security updates, and refactoring)
EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in computer science, mathematics or a related field is preferred, or relevant professional experience with qualified technical training
- Experienced in full-stack development (Java, Spring / Spring Boot, Angular)
- At least five years of experience in software development using one key technology (Java or Angular)
- Experience in CI/CD systems and release management
- Al least one year of leadership responsibility
- Broad knowledge of the field with strong leadership skills.
- Resolves issues and contributes to business unit/area development.
- Willing to take responsibility and actively shape a team
- Strong communication skills
- Works closely with senior managers and directors on departmental issues. Wide latitude for decision-making
- Familiar with developing and implementing software designs and service architectures
