Manager, Underwriting BCC (Remote - US)

This role is responsible for leading the credit analysis and underwriting of new Business Credit Center loans, including C&I loan requests up to $7.5 million and Investment Real Estate requests up to $10 million. You will ensure accuracy of credit data, assign proper risk ratings, and maintain compliance with internal policies. The position involves collaborating with multiple departments, mentoring new staff, and making informed credit decisions. You will be at the forefront of structuring complex transactions, analyzing financials, and supporting relationship managers to meet client needs while managing risk effectively.

Accountabilities

• Prepare high-quality, detailed credit approval documents, identifying risks and assigning accurate risk ratings.
• Structure complex C&I and Investment Real Estate financial transactions.
• Approve loan requests in line with policies, procedures, and risk appetite statements.
• Analyze financial statements, tax returns, projections, and supporting documents such as leases and rent rolls.
• Collaborate with Relationship Managers to assess client financing needs and gather necessary documentation.
• Engage directly with customers and Relationship Managers to discuss credit inquiries and gain deeper operational insights.
• Conduct timely credit analysis with a strong sense of urgency to meet targets.
• Prepare or review commitment letters post-loan approval, ensuring terms are accurately documented.
• Participate in or lead initiatives to improve the credit delivery process.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree required; Business, Finance, Accounting, or Economics preferred.
• 5–8 years of commercial loan underwriting experience.
• Strong credit analysis skills with the ability to identify key risks and mitigation strategies.
• Knowledge of both C&I and Investment Real Estate markets and transaction structures.
• Experience with SBA financing programs.
• Ability to clearly articulate credit decision rationale to stakeholders.
• Strong organizational, time management, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently, prioritize effectively, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
