PR Specialist

Role Summary :

As a PR & Communications Specialist, you will play a key role in supporting the development and execution of the company's external and internal communications strategy. This includes drafting media materials, coordinating with journalists and influencers, supporting special events, and ensuring consistent messaging across channels. The role requires a combination of strong writing skills, media intuition, and a proactive, autonomous attitude.

Key Responsibilities :

1. Draft, edit, and coordinate approval of press releases, background checkers, media advisories, Q&As, fact sheets, and related content.
2. Maintain daily contact with journalists: respond to inquiries proactively, pitch stories, and coordinate interviews.
3. Assist in organizing and executing press events, influencer activations, and stakeholder meetings.
4. Manage media monitoring, reporting, and internal trackers: coverage clippings, agendas, media lists, and reporting dashboards.
5. Monitor competitor activity and industry trends; provide summaries and insights to the team.
6. Ensure message consistency across paid, earned, shared, and owned media.
7. Liaise with internal departments (marketing, brand, legal, product) to ensure alignment of messaging.
8. Act as a brand guardian in external communication, upholding tone, language, and core values.

Skills & Qualifications :

• At least 3 years of experience in PR, corporate communications, media relations, or journalism.
• Strong sense of autonomy and ownership of tasks and deadlines.
• Excellent writing, editing, and verbal communication skills in English and Spanish.
• Familiarity with media databases, monitoring platforms (e.g., Meltwater, Cision), and CMS/social media tools.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks with competing deadlines.
• Team player with a proactive mindset and willingness to learn.

Nice to have :

• Previous experience in an agency, startup, or media environment.
• Knowledge of crisis communication protocols or reputation management.
• Exposure to public affairs or stakeholder engagement.
