Job Description

Huawei's Munich Research Center is responsible for advanced technology research, architectural development, design and strategic engineering of our products.

In the Advanced Wireless Technology Lab at our research site in Munich, we focus on the research of key technologies for future mobile radio systems such as beyond 5G and 6G. The major focus of our research is on the design of physical layer of the radio interfaces for the wireless communication system, and in particular on the crossroads between wireless communications and machine learning.

Job Responsibilities

Join us as a Research Expert Research Engineer for Wireless Intelligent Air Interface. The candidate will be able to make full use of his/her technical expertise and experience in the area of radio access network and play a key role in the research and development activities in our organization.

• Develop advanced physical layer techniques for communication systems beyond 5G and 6G.
• Propose and identify research directions of next generation radio technologies, in particular, improve the performance of air interface through application of advanced AI/ML techniques.
• Contribute to overall concepts for enabling vertical and emerging new services.
• Participate and contribute to relevant standardization bodies including 3GPP.
• Contribute towards IPR generation.
• Actively participate in international and national funded research projects.

Requirements

• Masters or PhD degree (preferred) in Telecommunications, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Information Technologies.
• 5 or more years of experience in research activities in mobile communications networks or system engineering and development.
• Demonstrated research capability (i.e. from leading edge publications or patent submissions.)
• Excellent understanding of up-to-date physical layer techniques.
• Deep understanding of AI/ML techniques and their applications in the wireless communication area.
• Fluency in English (written and spoken); German will be considered a plus.
• Excellent interpersonal skills combined with team spirit, experience with Asian business culture will be considered a plus.
• Well-organized, independent working style with a hands-on, can-do attitude.
• Good presentation and reporting skills.
