Stellenbeschreibung:
At SWARM Biotactics, we’re creating biorobots — living, intelligent systems based on insects. Each insect carries a custom-designed backpack that enables wireless control, sensing, and secure communication.Biorobot swarms combine the agility of biology with AI, sensors, and swarm coordination — unlocking capabilities where conventional machines fail.We are the only company in the world doing this — and we’re pushing the edge of what’s possible in every domain: from biology to embedded hardware to swarm intelligence. We’re looking for a Rust Embedded Engineer with deep experience to join our onsite team. This is a hands-on role, working daily with hardware engineers, biologists, and roboticists to give life to our biobotic platforms.
💡 Your roleDevelop low-level embedded firmware in Rust for microcontrollers, enabling real-time control and communication in hybrid biological systems.Design robust, safe, and efficient code for sensing, actuation, and wireless protocols.Collaborate closely with hardware, biology, and robotics teams to integrate firmware directly into living robotic prototypes.Contribute to a fast iteration loop — test, refine, and deploy daily in a multidisciplinary lab environment.Take full ownership of your systems — from architecture to deployment.🧠 Your ProfileHold a Master’s (or higher) in Embedded Systems, Computer Engineering, or similar, with professional experience in Rust and embedded programming.Expert in Rust, and low-level firmware design (RTIC, peripherals, interrupt handling, etc.).You care deeply about robustness, safety, and elegance in code — even when pushing the limits. You’re a creator with responsibility — autonomous, curious, and fearless in the face of new challenges. You thrive onsite, in a lab, where you can touch, test, and iterate fast with others.🌍 Why SWARM BiotacticsWe’re well-funded and expanding fast in a space no one else is in.You’ll join a world-class team working on the frontier of science and engineering.Your work will directly shape the foundation of biorobotic systems that redefine the interface between life and technology. No layers, no bureaucracy — just vision, ownership, and creation. You’ll help define how software and biology converge in the real world.⚡ Join the SwarmIf you want to write code that breathes, senses, and moves, we want to meet you.
