    This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of IHS Markit. We are currently looking for a Senior Analyst, Global R&D (Crypto/DeFi) in New York, USA.

    This role offers the chance to specialize in cryptocurrency, decentralized finance (DeFi), and digital assets while contributing to the creation of innovative financial indices across multiple asset classes. You will work closely with senior analysts, research teams, and technical stakeholders to design, back-test, and implement index methodologies. The position involves managing complex datasets, developing systematic investment strategies, and supporting thought leadership initiatives. Successful candidates will bring strong quantitative, programming, and analytical skills, with the ability to communicate insights clearly to both internal and external stakeholders. This is a dynamic role requiring curiosity, collaboration, and a drive to push boundaries in financial research and innovation.

    Accountabilities

    • Support research and design of new financial indices across asset classes, focusing on cryptocurrencies, digital assets, tokenization, and DeFi.
    • Clean, transform, and analyze large and complex datasets for index construction and evaluation.
    • Build robust index methodologies, including back-testing and documentation for internal and external use.
    • Develop internal tools and platforms to improve efficiency, automate repeatable processes, and enhance analytical capabilities.
    • Collaborate with stakeholders to onboard vendor data and contribute to innovative index strategies.
    • Prepare and present findings, presentations, and research materials for internal and client-facing purposes.
    • Manage multiple projects and deadlines, ensuring effective communication across teams.

    Requirements

    • Master’s degree (or higher) in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, Economics, Finance, or a related field.
    • Professional background in digital assets, cryptocurrencies, or blockchain technology is highly preferred.
    • Strong knowledge of asset classes, financial theories, and index construction methodologies.
    • Advanced programming skills, particularly in Python, for data analysis and index design.
    • Excellent analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills to address non-routine challenges.
    • Ability to work independently and collaboratively on multiple projects simultaneously.
    • Strong communication skills to convey complex findings clearly to diverse stakeholders.
    • Commitment to continuous learning and professional development (CFA candidacy preferred).
