    As a Senior Applied Scientist focused on Customer Growth, you will leverage cutting-edge AI and machine learning to drive measurable impact across user acquisition, engagement, and retention. You will design and implement scalable ML systems, run experiments, and provide actionable insights that enhance growth strategies. Working in a collaborative, fast-paced environment, you will partner with engineers, marketers, and data scientists to solve complex problems, optimize user experiences, and shape the roadmap for AI-driven growth initiatives. Your contributions will directly influence product performance and business outcomes while mentoring a team of applied scientists.

    Accountabilities:

    This role focuses on driving applied science initiatives with clear business impact and technical excellence. Key responsibilities include:

    • Initiate, lead, and complete applied science projects aimed at improving customer growth and retention.
    • Architect, implement, and deploy production-grade machine learning models and systems.
    • Design and execute experiments, analyze structured and unstructured data, and extract actionable insights.
    • Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, marketing, and economics teams to apply sound statistical and ML practices.
    • Balance speed of execution with scientific rigor when designing and deploying solutions.
    • Provide technical mentorship to other applied scientists, fostering knowledge sharing and best practices.
    • Translate complex problems into actionable solutions and clearly communicate findings to stakeholders at all levels.

    Requirements

    The ideal candidate brings strong technical expertise, analytical skills, and leadership experience, including:

    • 5+ years of experience developing production-grade machine learning models.
    • Proficiency in Python, including reading, writing, and debugging code effectively.
    • Deep knowledge of probability, statistics, experimental design, optimization, and causal inference.
    • Proven ability to lead impactful projects from ideation to execution.
    • Experience mentoring and guiding other applied scientists.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to balance trade-offs in complex scenarios.
    • Excellent communication skills, capable of collaborating with both technical and non-technical partners.
    • Experience analyzing both observational and experimental data to drive business decisions.

    This role offers competitive compensation and a supportive work environment:

    • Salary ranges based on location:
      • San Francisco / Bay Area, San Jose, NYC, Seattle: $200,900 – $259,900
      • Austin, TX, Washington DC, CA, MA, NJ, WA: $180,800 – $234,000
      • Other US locations: $170,800 – $221,000
    • Fully remote work option (#LI-Remote).
