This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of Twingate. We are currently looking for a Senior Backend Engineer in United States.

This role offers an exciting opportunity to build and scale innovative backend systems for secure remote access solutions. The Senior Backend Engineer will work on high-impact projects that enable seamless, zero-trust access to cloud and on-prem resources. You will collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and other engineers to design, implement, and maintain scalable software. This position requires strong problem-solving skills, technical expertise, and a passion for delivering high-quality, secure solutions. You will contribute to the full project lifecycle, mentor junior engineers, and help shape the architecture of critical backend systems. The environment is dynamic, collaborative, and emphasizes continuous learning and customer-focused innovation.

Accountabilities

• Design, develop, and maintain backend applications using Python and Django framework.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure high-quality feature delivery.
• Write clean, maintainable, and scalable code following best practices (OOP, SOLID).
• Participate in code reviews, debugging, and troubleshooting.
• Take ownership of the full project lifecycle from concept to production.
• Mentor and guide junior engineers to promote technical growth.
• Stay current with emerging trends and technologies to improve team capabilities.
• Contribute to building microservices architectures and managing relational and NoSQL databases.

Requirements

• 5+ years of hands-on experience developing and delivering large-scale applications into production.
• Strong proficiency in Python; experience with Django is a major plus.
• Hands-on experience in public cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP; GCP preferred).
• Knowledge of microservices architecture and scalable backend systems.
• Experience with relational and NoSQL databases.
• Strong communication skills; able to work independently or collaboratively.
• Passion for high-quality coding standards and clean architecture.
• Degree in Computer Science is preferred but not mandatory.
• Optional but advantageous: experience with React, TypeScript, NextJS, Docker/Kubernetes, GraphQL APIs, asynchronous programming, basic computer networking, and technical leadership.
