Choose the best place for your work – Within the scope of this position, it is possible, in consultation with your manager, to work mobile (within Germany) up to an average volume of 60% of the respective working hours.

Even more flexibility? Mobile working from abroad is possible for up to 30 days a year under certain conditions and in selected countries.

Your tasks and responsibilities:

  • You enable predictive maintenance, performance optimization, and automation in service delivery for medical systems through digital system twins.
  • You develop, integrate, and maintain digital twin models for medical systems in cross functional teams of data scientists, data engineers, architects, service-, and product‑specialists.
  • You continuously improve model quality through validation, monitoring of the real‑world performance, and feedback from users.
  • You maintain a network of business experts and subject matter experts to understand requirements and identify data‑driven business opportunities.
  • You drive and shape the data science, artificial intelligence and digital twinning innovation field in Customer Service.

Your qualifications and experience:

  • You hold a university degree in mathematics, computer science, data science, physics, electrical engineering, engineering sciences, or similar fields of study.
  • You can demonstrate many years of relevant professional experience in the area of data science, artificial intelligence, digital twinning, simulation and optimization.
  • You have a strong background and hands‑on experience in predictive maintenance, preferably in the field of medical devices as well as semantic modeling, contextualization, and graph technologies.
  • You are familiar with tools and technologies for ontology design and knowledge representation.
  • You have extensive knowledge of using and extending analytical tools and systems, e.g. Python, Spark, Databricks, Snowflake, or similar data analytics workbenches.
  • You are highly experienced in real‑time IoT data processing, streaming, and cloud‑based architectures.
  • Experience with medical systems hardware will significantly contribute to your success in this position.

Your attributes and skills:

  • You work in an international environment and are therefore fluent in English; good German skills are highly desirable.
  • You excel at communicating and translating complex technical concepts and challenges to diverse audiences including management, project managers, data scientists, and system architects - while maintaining clarity and direction when driving projects through challenging situations.
  • You have an excellent understanding of customer requirements and can help fulfill them using innovative, data‑supported approaches.
  • With your ability to apply analytical rigor and statistical methods, you help to optimize service products and understand the behavior of customers.
  • You have a collaborative mindset enabling you to work efficiently and passionately in cross‑functional and international teams.
  • You are able to guide and advise junior data scientists and take the technical lead in project teams.
