Senior Manager, Field Service (O&M)

This leadership role is responsible for overseeing field operations and maintenance activities for utility-scale solar and battery energy storage systems, ensuring optimal asset performance, reliability, and safety. You will lead and manage a team of field technicians and third-party contractors while driving operational excellence across a diverse project portfolio. The position requires a strong technical background and the ability to coordinate with multiple stakeholders to meet ambitious energy goals. Accountabilities

• Develop and execute operations and maintenance (O&M) strategies to maximize performance and lifespan of solar and battery storage assets.
• Lead field service teams and manage third-party contractors to ensure effective maintenance and repair work.
• Serve as the primary contact for O&M service providers and manage all related communications.
• Monitor and oversee O&M activities, setting priorities and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.
• Collaborate with partners to resolve warranty issues and manage non-covered site services such as vegetation control.
• Utilize internal CMMS systems to track maintenance issues and coordinate site visits and logistics.
• Supervise field technicians when applicable and support the growth of self-perform capabilities.
• Provide regular operational updates and reports to senior leadership and manage handover and turnover processes with project teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative or technical discipline.
• Minimum 10 years’ experience in industrial or utility-scale solar operations, with at least 5 years in supervisory roles.
• Strong knowledge of the energy market, renewable technologies, and evolving industry trends.
• Proficient understanding of National Electrical Code (NEC), electrical diagrams, SCADA systems, and plant processes.
• Demonstrated experience with PV maintenance including DC, AC, and communication systems.
• Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and leadership skills with a commercial mindset.
• Competent with Microsoft Office and other productivity software.
• Ability to travel as required.
• Location flexibility preferred but remote work is an option.
