Job Description

As a member of GE Vernova's Power Conversion and Storage (PCS) team, the successful candidate will support Renewable business initiatives related to power systems and power electronics equipment and services.

Essential Responsibilities

• Provide product development and technical analysis related to power electronics and power systems control of renewable generation, BESS, and large industrial drives through modeling and analyzing control performance.
• Expertise in developing models using PSS/E, PSLF, PowerFactory, PSCAD and other modeling tools.
• Develop modeling and grid integration team to support activities in Europe.
• Work with business development and sales to increase GE Vernova's market share in Europe for Solar, Storage, STATCOM and Sync. Condenser products.
• Expertise in developing and tuning controllers to meet grid code performance requirements.
• Develop technical understanding of PCS power electronics products and their integration to electrical grids.
• Support customers with power systems engineering expertise; including equipment design, specification studies, performance studies, commissioning support, troubleshooting, and failure mode analyses.
• Support continuous development of transmission and distribution products based on evolving codes and standards through participation in industry standards groups.
• Effectively communicate to internal and external customers by preparing detailed written reports or presentations describing analyses performed, solutions developed, and customer value propositions.
• Support domestic and international projects across regions, communicating customer needs and values back to GE Vernova.
• Actively participate on project teams ensuring high quality deliverables, budget, and on‑time project metrics are met.
• Actively participate in a working environment where teamwork, quality, customer service and innovation are prized.

Qualifications / Requirements

• Bachelor / Master / PhD Degree in electrical or electric power engineering with significant employment experience in related position.
• Significant professional experience in engineering and power system modeling field.
• Significant experience in developing models using MATLAB/Simulink, PSCAD, PSSE, PSLF, PowerFactory, Python, C/C#.

Desired

• Demonstrated modeling and technical experience in performance analysis of electric power systems with power electronic sources or loads.
• Experience planning and executing technical projects relevant to electric power systems and equipment design.
• Experience with developing models in electromechanical domain like PSS/E, PSLF, PowerFactory for inverter‑based resources.
• Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
• Understanding of grid systems interactions with power plant equipment and controls.
• Experience with time‑domain simulation tools (ATP/EMTP, PSCAD/EMTDC, MATLAB).
• Programming experience to understand controller code and complex simulation modeling (Python, Fortran).
• Application of complex mathematics and engineering to real‑world electric power problems.
• Experience with time‑domain simulation tools, specifically programming, tuning, and using user‑written “black box” models in PSCAD for wind turbines, solar inverters, BESS, or other advanced power electronic systems.
• PhD in Electrical Engineering or related science.
• Industry reputation, prior IEEE/CIGRE publications, participation in industry standards working groups.
• Awarded patents on HV power equipment applications.
• Experience modeling and simulating inverter‑based technologies in PSSE, PSLF, PowerFactory using generic and user‑written models.
