Senior SAP Ariba Consultant (12-Month Initial Contract)

About the Role:

Our client, a leading manufacturing company based in Düsseldorf, is seeking a Senior SAP Ariba Consultant for an initial 12-month contract to support their ongoing digital procurement transformation. In this role, you will be responsible for providing expert-level guidance on SAP Ariba solutions and assisting in the optimization of procurement processes. This contract offers flexibility, with a requirement of only 2 days per month on-site in Düsseldorf. The ideal candidate will bring a deep understanding of SAP Ariba, along with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work with cross-functional teams in a remote capacity.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Provide high-level expertise in the implementation and optimization of SAP Ariba solutions, focusing on procurement, sourcing, supplier management, and invoicing processes.
2. Assist in configuring, integrating, and customizing SAP Ariba modules such as Sourcing , Procure-to-Pay (P2P) , Supplier Lifecycle and Performance (SLP) , and Buying & Invoicing .
3. Work closely with the project team and key business stakeholders to gather requirements, develop solutions, and ensure that SAP Ariba solutions are aligned with the client’s procurement strategies and objectives.
4. Provide expert advice on best practices, guiding the client on how to maximize the functionality of SAP Ariba to enhance procurement efficiency.
5. Ensure seamless integration of SAP Ariba with existing SAP systems, such as SAP S/4HANA or SAP ECC .
6. Perform regular system health checks, troubleshooting, and provide recommendations for enhancements and improvements.
7. Support the client in system configuration and customizations, ensuring that business processes are optimized.
8. Assist in user training, documentation, and workshops to ensure smooth adoption of SAP Ariba solutions.
9. Provide ongoing support and maintenance for SAP Ariba, including troubleshooting issues and ensuring the platform meets business needs.
10. Be a trusted advisor to the client, ensuring that SAP Ariba supports their broader procurement and supply chain goals.

Key Requirements:

1. 5+ years of experience as an SAP Ariba Consultant, with a strong background in procurement, sourcing, and supplier management.
2. Expertise in SAP Ariba modules such as Sourcing , Procure-to-Pay (P2P) , Supplier Lifecycle and Performance (SLP) , and Buying & Invoicing .
3. Proven experience in SAP Ariba implementation , configuration, and integration with SAP S/4HANA or SAP ECC .
4. Ability to work effectively in a remote setup , with only 2 days per month required on-site in Düsseldorf.
5. Experience working with manufacturing clients or industries with complex procurement operations is a significant advantage.
6. Strong understanding of procurement processes and best practices.
7. Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and address technical challenges quickly.
8. Ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and build strong relationships with business users.
9. Fluent in English ; German proficiency is preferred but not mandatory.
