Merri-bek City Council is offering a fantastic opportunity for an individual to join our team for a 12-month contract to cover family leave. The Street Cleansing Unit undertake duties in the community which includes dumped rubbish removal, litter bin collection, street sweeping both mechanical and manual cleaning storm water systems and cleaning of shopping centres.
The Street Cleansing Unit is located in Hadfield, the City Operations Centre is just 8km from the CBD and offers excellent public transport access for employees.
The administrative position is a key component of the Street Cleansing Unit, keeping the wheels moving by being responsible for triaging of referrals, accounts, ordering, liaising with leadership and field team members. Working closely with the Unit Manager, Works Officers and Team Leaders this position is paramount to the success of the team. The ability to be decisive and work without direct supervision is paramount for success in this role. You need to enjoy a fast‑paced environment, have good problem‑solving skills, like working in a team environment, experience in a similar role would be an advantage.
