About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Automation Engineer to join a technical team working on industrial machinery and automated production systems .

In this role, you will design, program, and commission PLC-based automation solutions , taking responsibility from concept through commissioning and handover.

This position is ideal for engineers who enjoy structured automation projects , hands‑on commissioning, and working close to real machines in industrial environments.

Your Responsibilities

Programming and development of PLC software using Siemens STEP 7 and TIA Portal
Design and implementation of HMI and visualization systems using WinCC
Creation and maintenance of electrical schematics and documentation with EPLAN
Development of automation concepts for machinery and production systems
Commissioning of systems both in‑house and on‑site
Troubleshooting, optimisation, and modification of existing automation solutions
Coordination with mechanical, electrical, and software teams
Documentation of software, interfaces, and commissioning results
Support during factory acceptance tests (FAT) and site acceptance tests (SAT)

Your Profile

Degree or vocational training in Electrical Engineering, Automation Technology, Mechatronics , or similar
Solid professional experience as a PLC / Automation Engineer
Very good knowledge of:
Siemens STEP 7 and TIA Portal
WinCC (Classic and/or Unified)
EPLAN (P8 or similar)
Experience with Siemens S7-300 / S7-400 / S7-1200 / S7-1500 PLCs
Good understanding of industrial communication systems (PROFIBUS, PROFINET, Ethernet)
Experience with commissioning and troubleshooting of automated machinery
Structured, independent, and solution‑oriented working style
Willingness to travel occasionally for commissioning (project-dependent)
Native German speaker or fluent German at C1–C2 level (mandatory)
Good English skills for technical documentation and international projects
