The Business Impact Team (BIT) supports the growth of Oliver Wyman by enabling business development and management activities. The Business Impact Manager is a central role in the strategic and commercial development, operation, and community building of Marsh’s and Oliver Wyman’s Defense & Security (D&S) task force. The role provides support to the D&S task force Leadership in managing day-to-day affairs and serves as a go-to for colleagues on task force topics. The role translates D&S vision into strategic initiatives, performance metrics, and operational plans. It supports the rollout of D&S strategy and collaborates across Marsh businesses in the growth acceleration program. The Business Impact Manager acts as a thought partner to leadership, orchestrates cross-functional collaboration with Finance, Business Development, Marketing, Legal, Talent, IT, Knowledge, and Events, and ensures that commercial performance, investments, and people decisions align with strategic goals. This is a high-visibility, high-impact role for someone with strategic thinking, rigorous analytical skills, stakeholder management, and an interest in defense, national security, and government-related clients. The initial deployment is in support of the Marsh and Oliver Wyman Defense & Security task force, but deployment may change according to business needs.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Develop and leverage trusted relationships with firm leadership and teams, as well as relevant infrastructure teams
  • Manage or support recurring activities important to long-term success and day-to-day running of the business
  • Support strategic topics, commercial activities, business operations, and engagement/communication
  • Prepare and facilitate internal meetings; track action items; manage business to-do lists; execute people management processes; ensure compliance processes
  • Identify and implement improvements in strategic, commercial, or operational processes to enhance efficiency
  • Show leadership within the Business Impact Team by leading internal projects and enabling fellow members through learning and development and best practice sharing
  • Provide coverage where needed

This role will suit someone with:

  • 4+ years of experience in professional services; experience at a leading management consulting firm is highly desirable; experience with Defense & Security or government clients is strongly preferred
  • Experience dealing with confidential and business-critical issues

Technical Skills

  • Quantitative skills; proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel and PowerPoint); familiarity with generative AI and productivity tools is a plus
  • Strong academic credentials in Business, Economics, International Relations, Public Policy, Engineering, or Security Studies; advanced degree is advantageous but not required
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; additional languages helpful but not required
  • Eligibility for security clearance (or prior clearance) may be required
