Director Strategy (m/f/d)

Your mission

You will play a pivotal role in defining and executing cylib's strategic initiatives. As a part of the CEO‑office you will work closely with our Executive Team and cross‑functional departments.

• Developing Strategy Options: You design strategic pathways for various input streams and products within our battery recycling processes.
• Collaborative Evaluation: You partner with Finance, Tech, Commercial, Operations, and People to assess, prioritize, and sequence strategic options.
• Growth Opportunities: You explore and validate opportunities for product development, global expansion, and mergers & acquisitions (M&A).
• Executive Decision Support: You present well‑evaluated strategy options to the Executive Team and frame clear recommendations for decision‑making.
• Implementation & Monitoring: You drive the execution of strategic initiatives, set milestones and KPIs, and ensure successful implementation.
• Tracking and Optimization: You monitor progress and adapt strategies as necessary to achieve desired outcomes.

Your profile

• You are a dynamic and results‑driven professional with at least 7 years of professional experience, ideally in strategy consulting or corporate strategy.
• You hold a degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field.
• You have deep, hands‑on expertise in the raw materials sector, battery materials sector, or the metallurgical industry.
• You synthesize complex information data‑driven into actionable insights and solve problems with structured, pragmatic approaches.
• You have excellent communication and presentation skills, enabling you to effectively engage with diverse stakeholders.
• You thrive in a fast‑paced, interdisciplinary team environment and take ownership from concept to delivery.
• You are proficient in English (written and spoken); German is a plus.

About Us

cylib is a research‑based German scale‑up for holistic battery recycling – starting from discharging to recovery of all components of the lithium battery – that was founded in Aachen in 2022 by three visionary founders, including a female CEO.

Our process

The cylib process offers a complete end‑to‑end process from battery pack to green battery material by employing a combination of mechanical and thermal pre‑treatments and an innovative water‑based lithium and graphite recovery. Unlike incumbents, cylib can therefore recover battery materials such as lithium, graphite or manganese. The process was developed over several years of research at the renowned RWTH Aachen University and offers an efficient, resource‑ and climate‑friendly recovery of all battery materials from end‑of‑life batteries.

cylib's technology enables the recovery of all battery components regardless of whether it is an end‑of‑life battery or not. Recovery of green secondary raw materials from the cylib process enables the realization of the true Circular Economy on the European market.
