Chair of Fundamental Philosophical Questions in Theology

Offer Description

The Chair of Fundamental Questions of Theology is responsible for the academic implementation of the project funded by the Bavarian State Ministry of Science and the Arts: “Critical Edition of Medieval Commentaries on the Prologue of the Gospel of John and their Long-Term Philosophical Reception.”
The project focuses on the digital and critical edition of medieval texts, the application of digital methods for mapping intellectual networks, and their philosophical-theological analysis.

Duties include

Critical editing of medieval manuscripts
Digital editing and work with digital research tools
Identifying manuscripts and prints for the expansion of the corpus
Translation of texts (if applicable)
Participation in collaborative team work
Contribution to the planning and implementation of academic events and to the overall development of the project
Excellent skills in the critical editing of medieval manuscripts and in codicology
Good knowledge of philosophical sources
PhD in Philosophy, Philology, or History
Willingness to acquire additional digital competencies
Willingness to work with Oxygen/Ediarum
Very good command of German and English
Independent and accurate working style
Team spirit, flexibility, and strong motivation
