Job Description
Reporting to the European Senior Search Manager, the European Retail Search Manager creates and deploys the European Pet Nutrition Digital Retail Search strategy. This role is critical in maximising the exposure and performance of the Mars online Petcare portfolio.
The European Retail Search Manager defines, guides the execution of, and measures the performance of self-serve onsite programmatic-bought retail media strategy and Organic Search with our European eCommerce customers (Amazon & Zooplus), local market key customers, and cross-market search initiatives.
The role supports the implementation of the regional Retail Media Strategy, working with the Head of Retail Media, building best practice capabilities in our market clusters and Digital Business Unit, and enhancing customer engagement.
What are we looking for?
- Experience managing Retail Paid (Retail Media) & Organic Search activities in an agency or large business environment.
- Strong understanding of eCommerce and search algorithms, engines, and optimization.
- Experience with Amazon media, directly or via agency.
- Excellent communication skills to educate stakeholders and report on key metrics.
- Analytical and project management skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to influence across borders in a matrix environment.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Retail Search Leadership
- Develop and evolve Paid and Organic search strategies to increase Mars' share of search in Europe.
- Manage strategic partners to drive self-serve paid search campaigns.
- Build relationships with key retailers and understand search algorithms for SEO.
- Identify new search opportunities.
- Ensure capability and tools are in place to deliver the strategy.
- Lead, inspire, and motivate teams behind the search strategy.
Retail Paid Search
- Manage agency relationships for paid search campaigns.
- Provide performance insights and align business priorities.
- Maintain and improve processes, tools, and reports.
- Execute tests, analyze data, and optimize ROI.
- Manage campaign budgets and expenses.
Retail Organic Search
- Collaborate with teams to optimize content and product pages.
- Build and update keyword libraries.
- Track, report, and analyze search performance.
- Provide insights and evolve search plans based on industry trends.
- Standardize measurement of retail media activities.
- Research competitor strategies.
Market Trends
- Monitor and communicate market trends.
- Integrate trends into ongoing strategies.
- Transfer knowledge of best practices within Europe and globally.
